Astrological Medicine

We will present, in brief, material from our book, Vibrational Acupuncture, on integrating the use of Acutonics® Ohm precision calibrated tuning forks and acupuncture needles on the points and meridians of the face and body.

Research confirms that the human body is comprised of 60-65% water. Sound, moreover, travels 4 times faster in water than in air. Therefore, healing sound is readily transmitted to the entire body by means of its skeletal structure and watery consistency, via the Kidney meridian. This allows healing vibrations to permeate the most profound level of essence – the Jing.

Just as tuning forks represent the Water element, acupuncture needles, being more invasive, represent the Fire element. The synergy of these two modalities supports the immune system, prevents disease, and addresses the needs of sensitive, needle-phobic patients, as well as those who are suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) on both physical and psychospiritual levels.

MARY ELIZABETH WAKEFIELD

Mary Elizabeth Wakefield is the internationally recognized author of the book, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture (Elsevier UK, 2014). She is an acclaimed teacher, an acupuncturist, an herbalist, Acutonics® and Zen Shiatsu practitioner, cranio-sacral therapist and a professional opera singer. Mary Elizabeth is acknowledged to be a leading international authority on facial acupuncture, and has created innovative treatment protocols that emphasize a constitutional approach to this modality, as well as some 20 educational seminars that present her unique philosophy and treatment protocols.

Ms. Wakefield presented her first live certification series in two years, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Archetypes, drawn from her Somatic level of training, for FSOMA in Fort Lauderdale in March 2022. She will appear as a presenter via Zoom for the 53rd annual AGTCM TCM-Kongress in May, where her subject will be scar therapy. She has a roster of live and virtual seminars planned for the remainder of 2022.

In April 2021, Mary Elizabeth and her life and teaching partner, MichelAngelo, appeared online for the Great River Symposium, Minneapolis, highlighting material from their 5-star rated book, Vibrational Acupuncture: Integrating Tuning Forks with Needles, published in March 2020 by Singing Dragon UK. They also presented on this topic for the 2021 FSOMACON in in Fort Lauderdale (live presentation), FL in August and virtually for the Pacific Symposium in October 2021.

They also launched their 4th International GOLD STANDARD FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE® Certification Program virtually via Zoom in April 2021, garnering attendees from a variety of international locations; the 2-year Program will conclude in August of 2022.  

Ms. Wakefield’s 2020 teaching schedule included live seminars in New York City, and certification series offerings in Denver, as well as webinars featuring courses from her wide range of seminar offerings, under the auspices of Chi-Akra Center for Ageless Aging, Healthy Seminars, and Lhasa OMS. Additionally, she and MichelAngelo presented online for the TCM-Kongress, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, GERMANY, and Pacific Symposium, San Diego, CA

She has 35+ years of clinical professional experience as a healing practitioner, and has personally trained close to 6,000 healthcare practitioners from 5 continents. In 2012, she instituted a unique 2-year professional certification training for facial acupuncturists, the International GOLD STANDARD FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE® Certification Program, the only one of its kind in the world today, which has run successfully four times in the last 10 years. The most recent iteration of this Program launched in April 2021 with practitioners from Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Indian, UK and the US.

Mary Elizabeth appeared at the 1st International Cosmetic Acupuncture Symposium (ICAS) in Tokyo, JAPAN, where she has previously taught several seminars. She has presented several times at the TCM-Kongress, the Pacific Symposium, and the Canadian Oriental Medicine Symposium (COMS) in Vancouver, BC, CANADA. She has recorded several online seminars, the most recent on scar therapy for Healthy Seminars (CANADA) and several others for Acupuncture Professional (AUSTRALIA).

She contributed a column on facial acupuncture for 9 years to Acupuncture Today magazine, and has also written for the CA Journal of Oriental Medicine (CJOM) and Oriental Medicine Journal. Her treatment protocols have featured or highlighted in interviews in Oriental Medicine Journal, Qi Magazine, Alternative Medicine, Acu (UK), American Spa, Luxury Spa Finder, Les Nouvelles Esthetique (Canada), The Lantern (Australia), Naturheilpraxis (Germany), Huang Ti (Netherlands), Spa Asia (Singapore), Yin Yang (Switzerland).

Ms. Wakefield was invited to custom design a Diamond Acupuncture Facial™ in conjunction with the Academy Awards; subsequently, she appeared nationally on Fit TV (Discovery Channel). She maintains a private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, in New York City.

MichelAngelo

An opera singer, classical composer, pianist, astrologer, healer, diviner and writer, MichelAngelo has begun to make his mark on the international astrological community through his original essays.

In spring 2019, he published his first compilation, entitled Random Ramblings of an Astrological Autodidact, in both paperback and e-book format; it was very favorably reviewed by Mary Plumb in the Mar/Apr 2020 issue of The Mountain Astrologer, and has received several 5-star reviews on Amazon. A second volume, Miscellaneous Maunderings about the Starry Sky, was published in October 2019, also to 5-star reviews. A third collection, A Congeries of Cosmic Considerations, was published in November 2020. A fourth book, A Plethora of Planetary Proclamations, appeared in November of 2021, and a fifth, A Surfeit of Stellar Speculations, is currently in progress. He also co-authored the ground-breaking book, Vibrational Acupuncture: Integrating Tuning Forks with Needles, with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L. Ac., M. S., M. M., internationally acclaimed expert in facial acupuncture, published in March 2020.and has appeared with her at various acupuncture symposiums, both international and domestic.

MichelAngelo’s article, “The King is Dead”, a medical astrological analysis of Elvis Presley’s birth chart from both a Western and Chinese medical perspective, appeared in Oriental Medicine Journal; it was his third medical astrological article to be published by OMJ.

He has published two articles in the former Dell Horoscope, the first a case study of tenor astro-twins, and the second an astrological dream analysis. He has had articles published in eight consecutive issues of Infinity Astrological Magazine; subjects of these essays include, among others, prog rock icon Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull, Paul McCartney (and the “Paul is Dead” conspiracy theory) and Herman Melville. He is a regular guest on the Jupiter Rising astrological podcast, with host Eileen Grimes, as an expert on classical music and composers.

MichelAngelo is a co-author, with sound healing pioneer Donna Carey, co-creator of the Acutonics® sound healing system, of the ground-breaking advanced level treatise, From Galaxies to Cells: Planetary Science, Harmony and Medicine. He has created a 3-part certification series, Planetary Vibrational Medicine, in which he synergizes Western medical astrology with Oriental medicine theory and practice, introducing a variety of planetary vibrational methods of remediation (gem elixirs, tuning forks) to address constitutional balance and imbalance as it is reflected in the Western natal chart and identified through other astrological diagnostic strategies.
